    Some early comments...

I love the middle infield defense of Reese. Love it. Him and Nomar will make an incredible DP combo.

Manny Ramirez is without a doubt the best hitter in the AL.

Pedro has a sinker now? That is ****ing insane.

Nice to see Manny gun Melvin Mora out at 3rd. Didn't anyone tell Mora to never MAKE the 3rd out at 3rd??

    Thank God baseball is back!

Looks like Pedro really doesn't have his good stuff tonight. The fastball seems to be moving in/out alright, but the velocity isn't there. I'm sure that weather isn't helping matters for him.

I think I have as a good of a chance of throwing a 95 mph fastball as Pedro.

He is obviously not the same pitcher he was 5, even 2 years ago.

It doesn't look good for him to get that extension he wants. If I am Theo Epstein, I would be wary of giving him what he wants.

I just want to know what Johnny Damon is thinking. He looks as if he's been living up in the moutains.

I think he looks like someone from a civil war movie.

Pedro didn't have velocity all spring training. The Boston Brass is worried.

The Red Sox would be better off to try to resign Derek Lowe and Jason Varitek than to pay around 20 million to keep Pedro happy.

Although I will admit, he really pitched better after that disastrous 2nd inning.

But this was a forgettable game to say the least.

well this stinks. i'm all excited about the opener, and they put up a clunker. you know the orioles aren't half bad anymore. i always thought Palmeiro would be solid anywhere. he's like the Karl Malone of baseball.

meanwhile... Kurt Schilling is making way too many commericials. the dunkin donuts one was okay... but now it's getting cheesy. does he need to make more money or something?

You Boston fans all know that they lost this game because Manny started that thread after the Yankees opener, right? The BBGs don't much like gloating...

Baseball is back and the RedSox picked up right where they left off in the ALCS.

    Good times! ;)

What would SoSH think?!! Can't even win your opener. How pathetic.

    ;)

Better sound the alarm, Manny, the season might be in jeopardy.

    :p

At least they didn't lose to the Devil Rays. :p

Baltimore has a pretty sweet offense this year. They're gonna put up some hefty numbers.

Oh I am sure that SoSH is not happy right now, but we lost our opener last season and everything turned out fine (well, except when Forrest Gump had his brain fart in Game 7...)

I can't wait for baseball season to be over. Then, I don't have to see these meaningless Red Sox threads that no one cares about...
