Eight Mile Style filed the copyright infringement suit late last week against Apple. The music company claims Silicon Valley-based Apple used one of the rapper's songs in a TV commercial without permission. The music company is also suing Viacom, its MTV subsidiary and an advertising agency. At issue is an ad for Apple's iTunes pay-per-download music software. In the commercial, a 10-year-old sings Eminem's "Lose Yourself." The suit claims the commercial aired on MTV beginning in July 2003 and ran numerous times for at least three months. It also appeared on Apple's Web site. The suit claims that Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs personally called Joel Martin, manager of Eight Mile Style, and asked Martin and Eminem to what it termed "rethink their position" about using the Grammy-winning song. The suit says Eminem responded by ending discussions with Apple.
I saw that ad several times. I found it kinda disturbing that a little kid was so well-versed in Eminem's songs, music that is most definitely intended for (ever so slightly) mature folk. Oh well. I guess plenty of therapy might be able to cure him.
Ture, but I really think eminem has gone past the shock factor in his music and to writing some pretty deep songs. Remember when he sang "will smith doesn't have to curse to sell records, well i do so f him and f you too "in response to Will's "try to write one verse without a curse". Well if you listen to loose yourself, there's not a single curse word in there. Infact, the profanity in his newer stuff is way lower compare to his older stuff.

You must be listening to the radio version because there is a ton of cursing in everyone of his songs including Lose Yourself.
You think Eminem doesn't curse? Dude, get the album and stop listening to this radio edited crap. You don't notice all the blank pauses within each of his songs? Lose Yourself, Without Me, Superman, etc....
AS a former Apple employee and one who has seen Apple legal team in action, all I have to say to Em is "Good luck, you're gonna need it." If there is a punctuation mark missing in the brief they will get the whole suit tossed out of court and probably counter sue (and win) for getting their precious time wasted. Ouch. I remember when people on the phone would say some crap like "I'm gonna sue you guys!" it was all we could do to keep from rolling out of ours chairs laughing.
