I rank the PF in the west (i know some can play the 3 or 5 also)

    1. Tim Duncan
    2.Chris Webber
    3. Kevin Garnett
    4. Antonio McDeyes
    5. Rasheed Wallace
    6. Dirk Nowitzki
    7. Karl Malone
    8. Elton Brand
    9. Antawn Jamison
    10. Mo Taylor (ooops injured)
    11. Tom Gugliotta
    12. Horace Grant
    13. Stromile Swift

My question what replacement could we possibly hope for who would even make the list much less improve the PF position for us?

    Or did I miss someone?

i really would like to know of any option we have that would help us compete with west conf. PF. I think we need a top 5 center or power forward to compete in the west conference.

Really? The Bucks were 8-0 against the Lakers, Spurs, Kings, and Jazz, and they were nowhere near having a top 5 center or power forward.

I believe Horace Grant went to Orlando, so that's one spot open.

Cat- have to disagree, but I didn't make my post clear

I think to compete to win the west we would need a top 4 or 5

and I don't think we have anywhere near the complement of
Ervin Johnson, J Caffey and T Thomas on our roster at this time

also your point of the Bucks being 8-0 against those teams does not mean you could put them in the west where we are and say they are ahead of LA, San Antonio, or Utah

Tell me where you think the Bucks would finish if they were competing in the west conf.

Kenny Thomas is better than Jason Caffey, period. No doubt about it, Bucks fans won't even argue with that one. Eddie Griffin can contribute to us much like Tim Thomas does to the Bucks, but in a different area (more inside than perimeter). I'll agree with you on the Ervin Johnson assessment, but all it would take is a trade for Jahidi White or pickup of Marc Jackson and we are right there.

If the Bucks were in the West, I think they'd win between 52-56 games, and be a top 4 seed, maybe top 3. If they were a weak team in the West, don't you think that one of the West's top 4 seeds could've at least scraped out one win in eight tries against them?

you are right about the Bucks being a very good team that could compete in the west and they are put together similar to the Rockets

The teams in the east win with great guard play and tough team defense on the inside. Eastern conf. teams do not have many dominating players at the 4 or 5

Every top team in the west is at least partly geared to a dominating 4 or 5 ( at least the top 5 teams) someone who can either abuse other teams with scoring, defense or a combo (aka shaq)

We did pretty well against the east conf. We matchup well. But until we get the inside game out of Griffin (in the future) or we upgrade both the 4 and 5 to compensate- we are not going to match up with the list of forwards I posted.

I think Mo taylor was going to have a break out year- I also think givin playing time Griffin will become a big time PF-

Until then I think we have greatly hurt our playoff chances with Taylor's injury- I just don't see the answer out there unless miracles of miracles we did end up with 2 of the following-

Anthony Mason, Marc Jackson, Jahidi White, Kevin Willis

I also am hoping with several hundred others that Collier will be our pleasant surprise this year. ( as far as Cato??????????)
