I've done something to my back that's a lot worse than I've had in years. I need to go to a doctor, but I'm not sure who to look for. Should I just go to a family practice doctor? Anyone have any recommendations on the west side?

    Thanks.

I'm just getting over a wrenched back a few weeks ago. I could hardly walk from it. I saw my family doc for prescriptions (inflamation & muscle relaxers) and she recommended heat, massage, & chiropractor. My doc was at Memorial SW.

you may want to put down what your insurance is like.. if you have an HMO, you'd hafta see a family prac. before going to a specialist..

Dr. Robert Maidenberg is a good family doc to go see first. He specializes in back care, but is a general doc. I went to see him initially for my back. I have herniated discs though, so he wasn't able to help me much. He referred me to a pain management doc, and I go see him tomorrow for my second round of injections. :(

Here's the site for Dr. Maidenberg, he's located in the memorial area.
