Let's say you draft Paulo at 3. What would it take to move up to 4 from 17 to draft Ivey? Porter and pick 17 wouldn't be enough so what else would it take and would it be worth the move? Food for thought
It would probably take some kind of severe brain trauma for Stone to even want to attempt to move up for Ivey since the Rockets already have more than one better versions of Ivey.
It’s not worth it, why trade all our young players for 1 unknown while our young players have already shown so much ?
Not a fan of this idea but the reason would be because we can't give everyone the minutes they need. At some point we're going to have to pick players who get consistent touches and a consistent structure that is conducive to development.
How so? Trade Wood and Gordon there is 30 minutes PPG. Why trade all our younger players when there is 30MPG at the 3 and 5 there ?
The real question that would answer this question is "what do the Kings want to do most this offseason"? I don't really know the answer but it seems like they want guards and wings. Would you offer KPJ, Nix, and Mathews? Maybe. Would they take it for Ivey? Probably not.

Well yeah, we agree. You're assuming that we trade Wood and Gordon. Definitely would prefer that we just do that before any further offseason discussion.
Even if we didn’t trade both before the season starts, there is still room for minutes we can go in depth with that if you like. In a rebuild get as many looks as possible. 3/4 1st rounders last season have looked like good picks after Rookie seasons.
KPJ isn't a PG. But he is a playmaker. Kings front office seems committed to Sabonis/Lyles as a starting front court. Maybe they rotate in Wood off the bench? Just doesn't seem like a good fit any way you slice it.
Maybe, but the Nets pick must be top 10 protected. Giving up the Bucks pick is okay. The Rockets must not give up their 2023 rd pick at any cost. If it doesn't work, forget it.
We had the worst record in the league. I don't think anyone has shown 'so much'. But, to answer your question - historically, a top 5 pick has a significantly higher chance of becoming a superstar as compared to others. That chance of getting superstar is worth everything (except another star or top 5 pick) because ultimately you need 1 maybe more to be a championship team.
