Pujols is a monster. He hit another home run tonight putting him up to 18 on the season. Think he can keep it up and break 73 for the season? If there's anybody that I would think could break Bond's single season record, it'd be him.
They're checking everyone now, but I think someone said they're not checking for HGH. If that's the case all #'s should still be suspect. Including Fat Elvis's. lol. BTW. On Pujols current pace if he gets 600 at-bats he'll end up with 93 HR's this year.
I would love to see Pujols beat Bonds' record. Bonds is a cheater and a complete jackazz. Even though I'm an Astros fan, I love to watch Pujols bat. The guy is truly an exceptional hitter. His mind is like a vice. When he sees a pitch, he locks it into his memory bank. When he sees it again, it's over the left field wall. His bat speed and eye are amazing.
I hope he hits 74, but it won't happen. One thing that comes to mind: With spite towards Bonds, I wonder if some pitchers will pitch to Pujols more often to give him the chance to break the record. Just a thought.
I can't stand the Cards but it is almost impossible for me to dislike Pujols. I really like the dude and hope he does break Bonds record**. The guy is just unbelievable to watch.
He's a pretty muscle bound dude, but since there are no reports and any speculation that he might be roiding is simply that, speculation, I guess I'll give him the benifit of the doubt. However, it does bother me that as he seems to get better and better, his antics after his homeruns are starting to get more and more blatant. Standing and watching them, doing the bat flip, etc. Despite his status as a Cardinal, he would be a guy I could easily root for, but not if he slowly starts to turn into an *******.
