I was listening for a half a minute and Cause that Cuban doesn't want his player's Salaries mention on telecasts Everyone is jumping down his throat about it basically Why are Athletes/Entertainers Salaries being public is ok But I think in one of my jobs it was in the contract to not talk salary Why not have Everyone's Salary Published? Why they special? and lastly, Would it hurt the game if you did not know how much they get paid? Rocket River
Isn't it up to the team anyways? Whenever an athlete signs a contract, it ususally says "per team rules, terms were not disclosed" That info is pretty much public knowledge anyways, so I don't see why Cuban, nor anybody else, is making a big deal about it. It's just another way to cricitize a player that underperforms..."He's making $7 million per year and he can only score 10 points per game!?!?!"
That information doesn't have to be public, I don't think; it just gets leaked all the time. If he could control the information at the source -- with his player and his team -- it wouldn't be an issue. I'm sure the players and the team doesn't like everyone knowing. It sucks for them. But, if people wanted to know what I make as badly as they want to know what athletes make, I'm sure it'd be public knowledge too. Btw, it isn't uncommon for employers to put in some kind of do-not-discuss-salaries clause in employment contracts. It's illegal and unenforceable. Tell whoever you want what you make. Compare and contrast. That's a labor protection we got back in unions' heyday.
That is good to know . . . Cause folx get so freaked out when you discuss Salary Everyone wants to know how much Shaq's contract was but Ask them their salary and they get offended Rocket River
