I'm able to calibrate my TV just fine for BD movies. It's the streaming videos I have a problem with from my TVersity media server. I stream the calibration video and when adjusting the brightness and contrast it does nothing to change the image. Blacks are crushed and whites are too bright on streaming video from the PS3. Is this a known issue?
There are some settings on the PS3 you have to toy with. I forget which. One is RGB. The RGB will crush blacks unless you put it on the right setting. I think its the RGB setting.
I've tried setting that to full and limited and on streaming videos the brightness and contrast really has no effect. It's just weird. It really is making me rethink having videos on a media server to stream to my PS3 now. It's not that bad but in the back of my head I know the settings are not calibrated correctly and it drives me bonkers.
