I don't know if it's possible to pull a hip muscle but I think I did it somehow. I went to the gym on Monday and worked out my legs, and then Tuesday morning was a little sore but no more than normal. Last night I went and played basketball and I guess that was a big mistake. Today I can barely walk it hurts so bad. Anytime I try to stretch my leg out to take a full stride I get a pain right in the hip area. Also if I'm just sitting down and try to spread my legs out it's very painful. Has anyone ever experienced this? Any ideas on how to treat it besides sitting on my ass for a while? My brother had a cyst on his hip earlier this year that had to be surgically removed, so I'm a little freaked out.

You sure its a hip strain?

Sometimes, you can injure your back in a way that will cause hip, knee and misc. leg pains.

My advice: Go see a Dr.

I'm pretty sure it's my hip. I've had herniated discs before that caused pain down my leg, and this is different. If it's not feeling better by Friday I'm planning on going to a Dr.

Hip pointers suck major ass. Those things never seem to get better. I'd rather have a sprained ankle than a hip pointer.

If it hurts when you only move it a certain way, it's probably a strain and will get better with some rest. If it hurts no matter which way you move, it might be neurological...

Old Man Harrison showing his signs of strain. Even T-Mac has had a strained hip flexxor, so you're in good company.

Dude, you can pull anything if you try hard enough.

Go see a doctor and takes a few extra hits, until you get the results.

In all seriousness, the first thing I thought of was gall stones. My old man has them and his hip hurts so bad, he has to hit the emergency room for demerol (sp??). Of course he's pushing 60.

    Good luck
