The son of one of my friends is getting married this summer in my friend's back yard. He was talking about the goose problem that he has on the small lake next to his property-- a goose-problem that he wants to fix before the wedding. My mind snapped immediately to the opening few minutes of "Steel Magnolias" when Julie Roberts' father (Tom Skerritt) is going around with a shotgun trying to rid the old homeplace of pests and driving one particular neighbor (Shirley McLaine) over the edge. I catch her once in a while: yesterday yes because she did a catch-up show on some of her most memorable guests (i.e. the video diary that a dying mother left to her 9YO daughter).
