I was driving down to ATlanta from Chicago the other day. On my way down south, I passed through northern kentucky. To my surprise, I came upon "Simpsonville". A few miles later, I came upon "Shelbyville" This got me to thinking of that one simpsons episode, I think "Remember The Laughs" or something, the clip show modeled after the VH1 shows. Didn't it say at the end that the Simpsons were a northern kentucky family? Perhaps i have stumbled upon the very birthplace of the simpsons?!??

It doesn't matter if someone thinks they found it or not. The place doesn't exist. The Springfield in the Simpsons is near the ocean, has a huge tall mountain, a gigantic gorge and has legalized gambling. Can you think of a state that fits that description? I sure can't. I'm pretty sure the city in the show was not based off any particular Springfield location. They just chose a generic name that would get people wondering so they could screw with the fans.
