RANGER! We got this little fellow last night... missed the awesome Mavs game, but this guy was worth it... He's gonna be a HUGE Rockets fan!! Just thought I'd share. My 4 year old female Rottie is totally enamored with this little bugger... she slept by his kennel all night!! too cute.. rH
Congratulations, HEAD! I know what a great feeling it is to bring home a puppy. I have been trying to get my parents to get a second dog to be a companion to Rex, but it doesn't look like they want to do that.

Did you ever find your cat that one night several weeks back? I seem to recall you were quite worried as your cat didn't come home like usual and you were searching around. I hope the cat was fine. Nice dog...kind of reminds me of Cujo. Is that dog a potential killer with a split personality? I'm sure since you are raising them well they will be okay but some traits just can't be unlearned. Ask my ridgebacks....(those little shiyats). Surf
Surfguy, Each breed has certain drives that are higher than the next and can't be unlearned. As for behavior, any dog can be trained to be obedient. It's a matter of how adamant you are in correcting them and most importantly, showing them the correct behavior after you correct them.
Of course dogs can be trained to be obedient. Is this a lecture? Dogs can also be very unpredictable in their behavior irregardless of their history and how much obedience training they have had. It works both ways. As I said, I'm sure rockHEAD is an excellent dog owner whose dogs will be well learned and behaved...as long as he keeps them off the ganja .
Nice dog...kind of reminds me of Cujo Lol. Cujo was a St. Bernard! That puppy does look like he could grow up to be a homicidal killer though. By the way, I have a friend who has 2 ridgebacks. She absolutely loves them - they are great dogs, loyal and very intelligent.
Hey Surf... unfortunately my cat never came home. I hate to say it but I believe she may have been attacked and carried off by stray dogs!? I've seen a few in the neighborhood... so sad. I miss that cat... and call it periodically... oh and none of my animals partake.
