New CD Out Today

    Some great Texas Music was released today. Of course, I can't remember the name of the band because I just can't, but I listened to it the other day at the home of a fellow poster. He was able to snag a copy since he played on the cd and all. I immensely enjoyed the music and figured that RocketmanTex wouldn't start a thread on his own.

    RMTex, tell everyone the name of the band!!!

    The name of the band is Carl Hayn and the Holdouts.

    The name of the CD is "Enjoy the Ride".

    It isn't out yet, but it will be any freaking day now...like Tom Petty sez...the waiting is the hardest part.

    I play lead guitar, slide guitar and mandolin on the CD, as well as provide backing vocals and a very strategic sound effect involving alcohol (what else!).

    The CD will be available at Cactus and several Music Wherehouse stores in Houston, and on the internet at CDBaby.com, MyTexasMusic.com and a few others we are negotiating with.

    I'm pretty sure it will garner some airplay on KPFT. The previous ones did. This is the 4th CD from the band, but the first one with me on it.

    So there you have it...when the CD officially comes out (i.e. when we get product back from the duplicator and deliver it to where it needs to be) I will revive this thread.

    Thanks RM95....you know me all too well...where is the "embarassed" smiley when I need it???

    Just the Dukes of Houston (blues band)...Holdouts first gig for the new CD will be near the end of April...an in-store at Cactus being negotiated as we speak.
