http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/sto...unlikely-offer-brook-lopez-extension-deadline perhaps I am reading too much into things...but, does this signal a strategic shift for the Nets? the timing of the statement just seems odd to me.
This is a no-brainer because of his injury. No news here. It's coming up now because the deadline is next Wednesday.
I'd rather target a real PF.... As you can see, a player like Dalembert would work wonders with a good all-around PF beside him....No need in getting Lopez to play alongside Scola....IMO of course
Lopez is soft as hell. He's basically the Center/PF version of Rudy Gay. I'd pass on him. You need bangers, paint protectors and rebounders at the C position, not softies.
I can see Orlando making a serious reach for him once Howard walks (granted the magic don't get a legit center in return when they trade him)
I guess a stress fracture putting him out for the season doesn't scare anyone else off? besides, I think he projects better as a PF ala Paul Gasol. he could be very effective in that role, but still needs a big body next to him to take the defensive load. would rather give DMo a run at PF under the same circumstances than overpay this guy to pose as a C.
