De Niro. Pacino. Pesci. Scorsese as director. Wow.

200 million dollar production budget. Double wow.

I'd sure like for this to be good. Not sure how it could be, though. DeNiro and Pacino have been phoning it in for so long now. Pesci has been out of acting for over a decade. Scorcese going back to the crime well with the old gang. Reeks of old pals cashing big checks together.

Normally I'd agree, but the material in this movie seems right up the trio's alley. And Scorcese, as well.

It'd be different if the movie was a family-friendly PG comedy about the trio being retired mobsters having to adjust to life after crime (like them attending their granddaughter's piano recital, etc). That's definitely phoning it in for checks.

But if there was ever a movie to "remind" society of how good these guys once were, this seems like the movie to do so.

With that said, if they DO screw this up, then they shouldn't star in movies any more.

Hate that this went to Netflix instead of a theater release.

Even the best mob movies don't make 200 million. But then you make it about Jimmy Hoffa which already bombed at the theaters, and you name it the Irishman who nobody really cares about, think you have a loser at the box office for those reasons alone even if it turns out good. There is not going to be a lot of interest in going to see it so it will need some word of mouth. The mystery of Hoffas death sort or interesting, but not really a draw if you ask me.

Thought the trailer was good, but only if you know who Hoffa is or was, which nobody really does anymore.

Ahhhhh didn't see that! Good. That's what I like to hear. Scorcese deserves the big screen.

getting older is strange. hard to process the fact that de niro and pacino are nobody's nowadays, just nostalgia, and the majority under like 25 don't even know who these guys are, outside of maybe a name they've heard. depressing.
