I think there are a few of you here, but I could be wrong. Guess I'll find out. I need some song titles. My girlfriend is a country fan and I'm trying to put together a CD for her - the only problem is, I really am not much for country. She's tried to make me listen to some every once in a while, and you'd think after two years I would catch on, but it doesn't have much effect... Anyway, she's pointed out several, but I can't remember all the titles. I'm looking for country love songs, mostly (maybe). I'm sure once I see a few titles I'll recognize some she's told me about - but I'll GLADLY take suggestions from anyone as well. Here's an example of a couple I remember her liking: I'm already there - Lonestar Two People fell in Love - Brad Paisely Can anyone make any suggestions? Thanks in advance...
What about "Amazed" by Lonestar. Or "Cowboy take me away" by the Dixie Chicks. Or does a guy have to sing it. The country I listen to is mostly up-tempo so I probably can't help that much.
Although I only live an hour from Nashville, country music is not one of my favorite genres. I do have country CDs by Shania, Faith, and the Dixie Chicks. However, I recommend the following (all which I have on CD): Just to Hear You Say That You Love Me - Faith Hill & Tim McGraw I Swear - John Michael Montgomery I Do (Cherish You) - Mark Wills How Do I Live - Trisha Yearwood Please, whatever you do, if you decide to get the last song, do not go with the Leann Rimes version! Trisha's version is superior in every way.
All those songs are country i guess.... but if you want real Texas country go with Pat Green and Cory Morrow, Robert Earl Kean, etc.
I can probably help you out here... these are the best that I can think of right now: Valentine-- Martina McBride There You'll Be-- Faith Hill To Make You Feel My Love-- Garth Brooks From This Moment On-- Shania Twain Amazed-- Lonestar It's Your Love-- Tim McGraw w/ Faith Hill I Cross My Heart-- George Strait How Do I Live-- Leann Rimes (I actually like hers more than Trisha's...) Cowboy Take Me Away-- Dixie Chicks Let's Make Love-- Faith Hill/Tim McGraw If you need more let me know.
Yeah but Pat Green just sings about normal country things like drinking, losing women, being sad, and he mentions Texas like every other word. Maybe I'm not familiar with all his work, but he doesn't seem to be a love song singer. Could be wrong though.
"In a big country, dreams stay with you like a lover's voice cross the mountainside...stay on the ride. I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert. But I can look and breathe and something--something- in winter time!" Great, great '80's song.
Gotta let these guys know vj. Pat Green doesn't mention Texas every other word. And there are some good love songs in there. Here are his best songs in my opinion: Whiskey Carry On Ruby's Two Sad Daughters Dancehall many many more.
Ludacris - Area Codes Fabolous - Can't Deny It Trick Daddy - I'm A Thug Afroman - Because I Got High Juvenile - Set It Off etc, etc, etc...

Garth Brooks - You Move Me is a great song... I could go on for hours but most of the stuff I like is older country music... IMO, 98% of post-1995 country music is a festering bowl of rat terd...
Rokkit, Here are a few more I've thought of: Kenny Chesney-- You Had Me From Hello Sara Evans-- I could Not Ask For More George Strait-- The Man In Love with You Mark Wills-- Back At One Lonestar- Tell Her
