I don't mean to be rude, but... really? you need a "deal" on a countertop radio? CAn't you get one, like anywhere, for like $10-20? I have <strike>one</strike> a dozen I'd give ya, but I'm in Austin. I'm guessing if WalMart or Target or whatever doesn't have one for ya, try garage sales.
probably not the cheapest option out there but i can't see why you would get anything other than a squeezebox radio.
i have a file server at home with all my data, music included, on it. i stream to my hi-fi via sqeezebox server. i find it very convenient and much less invasive than iTunes. now i only use iTunes for loading new stuff i'm checking out onto my iPhone. edit: oh, my point was that now that it is set up this way, i can always add squeezebox radios or booms to any room. it's a very good way to set up your music going forward. unless, of course, you figure you'll stop listening to music at some point in the future.
or you can't afford internet....almost impossible I have 2 Macs that stream itunes libraries to my apple tv, squeezebox boom. 2 airtunes connected to speakers. I use my iphone to play music outside on the patio and in the garage speakers. If I had no internet i wouldn't be able to do anything in my house really.
Worst Buy sells this Philips one that has a CD player and a radio... it's about $40. I know 'cuz my mother-in-law has it. And I hate it.
