When I woke up this morning I noticed my dog wasn't feeling too well. She was just sitting there not really doing much and she is usually really playful and hyper. I opened her pen and she didn't even come out (she always does) and it scared me. I noticed that one eye was closed and it had this mucus sort of stuff on it.

I wiped it with some water and she opened it. She still seemed down, she drank a bit of water but did not want to eat. She couldn't really move a whole lot but she was breathing fine. I am taking her to the vet when I get off work but I am worried. Anyones dog ever have something like this?

You couldn't get out of work to take your sick dog to the vet?

By waiting, you could be hurting your dog even more given you don't even know what is wrong her.

a similar thing happened to my dog a couple of weeks ago. got home from work and she was lethargic with one eye like that. I'm thinking it was allergies, she was fine after a little while.

(I did blame the cat though and she got in trouble)

Make some strong black tea (cold), dip a rag or cloth in there and wipe the dog's eye. She will feel better the next day and the eye will be back to normal. My beagle had a red eyes and barely could look up at me and my mom told me to do the tea thing and it worked! It's probably just a minor infection.

    Goodluck.

just got back from the vet.. she had an infection. The doc said dogs usually get that from being in dirty places and I let her out yesterday which I usually don't do. Shes drinking Pedialyte right now and they gave me some pills to give to her every 12 hours. Shes doing fine now though, she is actually up and running around. Thank God!

my dog is not an outside dog though. So she isn't supposed to be outside.
