I was reading in a tech magazine the other day about a new "peer-to-middle-ground-to-peer" non centralized file sharing program.

Supposedly this allows you to anonymously share and get files by masking IP addresses and by always running connections through multiple hubs.

Here is the link to the software's site:

Has anyone used this software? Pros/cons?

haha ... well I guess no one has used this

I was just looking into this since I stopped using Kazaa a while ago for fear of the RIAA and this was made to avoid the RIAA. I guess I'll have to try it out myself and see how it works.

    hahaha.....

    :D

you need to realize what a "hacker" really is...

a hacker is someone that like to dig in to the intricate workings of things and find out how they tick...and even sometimes change things to work the way they want them to...

using that definition....you could say that...

    do I consider myself one?.....no.

If I have any hacking skills, they were only learned so that I could better evaluate and secure networks...which is what I am attempting to become...a network security analyst/administrator.

lets put it this way.....anyone claiming to be a l337 hacker is just a lamer script kiddie...people that have real hacking skills dont advertise...if you know your stuff....the only people that know are your close friends.

R2K is right. Anyone that goes around advertising they're some badass is probably just some AOL kid that hangs out in the hax0r chat rooms.

As part of my job I have to test our servers for vulnerabilities and stuff like that. The way I figure is that if I can find a hole, then someone else out there can definetly find it, because my knowledge comes nowhere close to some people out there.

When I was younger I used to think I was cool, using tools like Back Orifice to gain remote control over peoples computers. Sending bogus alerts, restarting their computers, playing .wav files. Looking back on it I was just an idiot using tools that anybody could figure out within a few hours, but I sure thought I was l337 at the time :)
