    Queen is set to go on tour with.... Paul Rodgers! Paul Rodgers is the guy from Free, Bad Company and The Firm... I'm not running out to buy tix for this... but Paul Rodgers? Any opinions on this?

    To be fair, shouldn't they change the name to "Jack", or "Duke"? How about "Earl"?

    It's blasphemy is what it is. There's no replacement for Mercury; I hope they go out under a different name.

    Paul Rodgers is a musical slut. He'll play with anybody.

    That said, he's an excellent vocalist and a talented performer. I've seen him both with Bad Co and the Firm and I've always been impressed.

    Is it Queen? I don't think so, but I can understand the guys from Queen wanting to play and I think Paul is as good a front man as any.

    I'm not familiar with his repetoire... I know the Firm and some Bad Co. songs, but is he gonna be able to hit the Freddie Mercury highs?

    I guess the bandmates really need money. This is a bad idea. Is he joining the group or just touring this once? If he joins the group and they continue with a new album, then I guess that would be more acceptable than just a one-time tour.

    Maybe they should have got Mike Meyers instead?

    Paul Rodgers can sing anything but it makes me cringe to think of him singing Freddy creepy Mercury stuff, eeeuuuw.

    The whole thing is a total w**** job..of course they will sell out every date.:rolleyes:

    The tour is titled "Queen and Paul Rodgers", though the original Queen bass player is a likely no show. Currently, this is a Europe only tour, so getting tickets will include a air ticket :)

    Speculation is that the show will include both Queen and Paul Rodgers songs, probably with a strong influence on the early hits of both. Rodgers should be able to handle the more straight ahead Queen songs. Given the size of Queen's back catalog, Rodgers should not have too much trouble picking enough doable songs for the show.
