It's only fitting that the Dude would replace the Duke.

Seriously though, Jeff Bridges is my favorite actor, but he'll never fill the boots of John Wayne. The Duke never seemed to care how many bad movies he made, which was a shame considering how damn good he could be when he put his mind to it. In True Grit, he put his mind to it, in a big way.

I like it. Sort of reminds me of "Unforgiven"...

Just remember though: this is an adaptation of the book.......not an adaptation of another movie that was an entirely different adaptation of the book.

    And it has Jeff Bridges

and Josh Brolin and Matt Damon and Barry Pepper

    And it's the Cohen brothers

    Count me in.

The Proposition was a critically praised Australian western. Great movie and one of the grittiest I've ever seen.

Barry Pepper is so, so underutilized. He's fantastic, and I'm glad he's hooking on with the Coens for this one.

Looks good. Alert me when the Coen's make Blood Meridian...into an X-rated film.

I loved it. It was slow-paced, and that may have , but I think the story is that now Westerns just don't sell that well any more. It's a shame, because they are some of the best films ever made.
