[Movie] Blue Valentine

    This movie comes out on Wednesday...pretty excited about it. It's already on several top 10 lists for the year. They had a battle with the MPAA over the rating and ended up getting it down to R from NC-17. Seems like a pretty intense movie and not one you want to see with your significant other... just from everything I've heard.

    The band Grizzly Bear scored the soundtrack, and it currently has a 95% on RT with 41 reviews.

    I want to see it, but is it wide? I was worried it'll be limited like every other film I've wanted to see recently (because Hollywood is stupid)

    Will watch because of Grizzly Bear, but after Black Swan I'm not sure if I want to rush to check out another intense movie right now.

    Might wait for the Netflix.

    I caught an interview with them on Charlie Rose a little while ago. Seems pretty interesting, including what they went through actually filming it.

    But I usually go for 'Michael Jackson eating popcorn.gif' type flicks in the theater and save the depressing ones for home.

    Seems thematically similar to Revolutionary Road, or Scenes From a Marriage; I like movies about the horrible decline of relationships.

    I need to find a first date to bring to this.

    I have no idea what this movie is about, but Gosling (with the exception of The Notebook) makes solid decisions, so I want to see this.
    Plus, there is Michelle Williams, and any emotionally depressing film, of course she is in it.
    Reviews look good so far.

    never even heard of it but looks pretty good even though that was def. more of a teaser then a trailer..

    any one know for sure what the theme of the movie is?

    relationship struggles??

    It's about the death of a relationship.

    Apparently the film does a great job at capturing "the moment" where the relationship goes from dying to dead.
