Did anybody see that show on Discovery or one of those channels? I think it was called "Killer Croc of Uganda" or something. One of those well known croc hunters helped train some Uganda officials to hunt crocs. They caught this same croc they just caught in this article. They taped its mouth shut and boxed him up. They then went to sleep for the night. The whole town was ecstatic. Then, they woke up the next morning and the croc had smashed his way out of the side of the box. It escaped.

I'm glad they finally caught it again. Wow! If you haven't seen that special, then I highly recommend catching it. That guy had a few really close calls when he was training the Ugandans how to capture crocs. I wonder if it was those 2 guys he trained who caught this one. Nooone in Uganda knew how to capture crocs before.

In the special, the village they were filming in depended on the river for fish, water, bathing, etc. . I thought they were crazy the way the villagers were always in ankle and knee deep water. During this episode, they actually built a safe zone barrier to where they didn't have to expose themselves to croc attacks but those people will still be out there. I guess they have no choice. These crocs in that region are very aggressive, too. I hope they don't get a false sense of security because this one has been captured. There are plenty more where that came from but maybe not that big.

How much you want to bet that what they might have thought was one man eater who ate 80 people was more likely 40 crocs that ate 2 people each...

What a waste, just think of all those poor cowboys who could have used a nice new pair of crocodile boots.

    This is really pathetic -

But when I read thread title, I thought for a second it was going to be an article about some guy who was eating an endangered species of crocodile.

Me three. "Man eating crocodile" is a lot different than "Man-eating crocodile."
