I'm just purely curious, does anybody know what it costs to lease a luxury box for a year at the Toyota Center? They don't list prices on the website, and I don't want to call and waste the ticket sales guys' time asking stupid questions. I know there are different sized boxes in different positions, and you can get different food contracts...but is there a guesstimate or maybe Tim is around and he'd know. There is no way I'd ever be able to buy one...I was just wondering.
i know of at least one group that didn't renew. they went up big time from the compaq center to toyota center...and then they went up again.
I'm good for a grand or two. How many people can we fit in there? LOL. That will determine how much we need to pitch in. Or, we do a time share type of thing. Hell, I don't even live in Houston so I know I would only attend on occassion.
The regular suites come with 12 tickets and parking passes. So, that's roughly $10,000 each for a cheaper suite. Of course, if you get, say, 48 people and rotate every fourth game (that's about 10 games per year each), you could each spend about $2750 and get a suite.
They do have internet access...you might just have to plug in. Also, wouldn't most people want 2 tix per game?...the best way would be 4 sets of 6 people...2 tix per game...10 games...about $5500. Of course, just split a pair of club seats...approx. $125 per seat per game...split with 4 folks....$2500...and you get a parking pass. Also...if you lease the box...don't you get the box for EVERY event at the Toyota Center? All concerts and sporting events?
rockHEAD won't do it unless he can still go to the chatroom during games to give PBP. Lord knows he is needed there. LOL. This is already too complicated. I'm out.
It just goes to show you that if you put it the right way, with the right number of people...something that we all see as only huge corporations or very wealthy people can get...gets a lot closer to perhaps being a reality. The reason I asked this was I looked at the Dallas Cowboys webpage, and it costs 30K to 50K a year for a suite there...(I know its the Cowboys, and I know they only have 8 home games...but it got me to thinking how close a group of people might be able to come to pulling something like this off.
Thinking about it like this 41 games * 12 = 492 possible tickets. 125,000/492, that's about a little over 250 dollars/ tickets. While it's definitely high, if it includes food and stuff, it might actually be some what attainable and worth it for the upper middle class. (P.S. I know I still can't afford it)
Yup, when I went to a suite last time back in April for the Sactown game, they had internet access with flat panel monitors. You can kinda see it in this pic behind my cousin. http://www.dave2000.net/lexuslounge/P4040018.html
