I think the coming 2 years will determine if Yao/MAc combination will lead us to promised land. And in the next 2 years we will have enough constraints on money - so flexiblity is fairly limited in terms of any large scale make-overs ( and yes who wants JHoward!)

I personally would like to trade the 2007 First round Draft Pick, if we can move up and get a Starter ( If we dont get Bargnani then Morrison or Roy). My logic is simple- if Mac and Ming are healthy our 2007 pick will be in Mid-first round. What good can that do if we can't make much from a #8 Pick?

Here are the "assets" we have to offer

    1. First Round #8 Pick + High Second Round.
2007 First Round Pick ( IMHO we trade it now!)

    2. Stromile Swift
    3. Bob Sura ( with the possiblity of a Medical Exception)

    Significant Trade exceptions

    1. MLE
    2. TPE of about 3.5+ million ( not sure of the dollar amount this for Moochie)

Come to think of it we have a pretty decent chance of becoming a force. IF we wanted we should have 3-4 Solid Players on the roster.
Stromile or combination of Stro with Sura ( assuming he gets a Medical Exception) should easily get us decent players/ other First Round picks.

This Draft may not be that easy to gauge- but that is more of an opportunity if we did our home work. We have to be agressive- the way we went about the last 2 years was is to have 'band-aids'- and the results were disastrous.

I don't know if you realize it, but the 2007 draft will probably be one of strongest drafts in recent memory. Personally I would have a hard time parting ways with next years 1st round pick.

Not at 15 - which is what I would expect if we just have normal year. What exactly are we going to lose out at 15?
