This is the best analogy I could come up with regarding the Howard/Asik combination. The twin towers is basically the left-handed specialist coming out of the bullpen in baseball to neutralize the left-handed hitters.

Unfortunately, our head coach is using this specialist as a starting pitcher, who is predictably getting beaten around by right-handed/switch hitting batters. The Howard/Asik combo is getting exploited by smaller teams with a PF with range and a plethora of other shooters that can spread the floor.

Moreover, the twin towers lineup simply may not be good at all, against any matchup. That is why Howard/Asik is the Wesley Wright of basketball.

Please McHale, stop starting your specialist (which isn't even that... special), especially in bad matchups.
