Okay I have two problems. My desktop is connected to a modem (Roadrunner) which is connected to a wireles Belkin router. Everything is hardwired. Everytime I start playing Xbox live, I cant surf the internet. What the hell is the point of have a freakin router?!?!?! Isn't the IP address or DNS number thingy suppose to be different for the internet and the xbox live? Right now all the numbers are similar on the computer and the xbox. The second problems is much more complicated. Different apartment...I have a laptop connected to a wirelss Belkin router and a cable modem. All of sudden the wireless thingy stopped working. Now the internet only works if I hardwire it. And the Xbox live doesn't work at all. Keeps saying "DNS is not resolved". My laptop also seems to detect the wireless connection, but like I said it wont actually connect. Somebody help!!!!
i think the second problem is easier. i've had my linsys wireless router go bad on me after a year or two. its been the second time within 5 years. (damn, next time remember to buy warranty ) on my computer it showed that i had a wireless connection, but no substantial packets were going through. i just had to go out and buy a new wireless router.
