I am so freakin upset! It's been a while!

I had a job interview yesterday, after 2 initial phone screenings. The interview was from 1-3:30, and it was in 3 stages, with three different folks.

I got to the place a little before 1, signed in, and waited for the dude to come pick me up, no interaction whatsoever with ANYONE. The guy talked to me for 20 minutes, asked a few questions, and answered a few. Second guy, same thing.

The third lady that was supposed to do the big technical bit of the interview was about 20-25 minutes late, so Guy #2 asks me if I'd like to goto the deli and get something or just wait there, and I told him I was fine, and that I'd wait, thank you. The lady shows up about 30 mins later, and she does her technical bit, and then asked me if I had any questions, and I had quite a few so I asked. She answered, said thanks, and escorted me out. Still, no interaction with ANYONE else.

So they call the recruiting place today and tell her No, thanks. Which is not a big deal by itself, but the reason she gave was I insulted another employee in the company (other than the 3 interviewers) and that I put down one of the interviewers and what he does. What's pissing me off is I didn't interact with ANYONE but those 3!! Secondly, I didn't mention anything that wasn't job related, meaning didn't deviate much from my technical background, or what other work I've done.

To top it all off ... she tells the recruiter that I asked too many questions, and I should have known what the process of their product was ... ?!?!? I didn't realize asking questions about the position in question, or how they expect work to be done was not allowed!

Is it fair for me to write them and ask them exactly what I did that they thought was too much?!?

    *fuming*

Heck yes write them back, and CC their boss, in fact CC the CEO of the company if you can and include names and dates.

You may not get a job there, but you can stop that incompetence, and you can bet in the future they don't lie to recruiters about you.

Sounds like they confused you with someone else they interviewed. You might have the recruiter call back and verify with a visual discription as well as a date/time of the interview. I can't see why they would make this stuff up.
