I'm going through the ice, snow, and sludge,...I hope my Jeep is capable...packing my M16 rifle for defense...At least 300 rounds and 6 mags full hope I don't skid in the ice...Is Arkansas still with feets of snow...My wife screaming at me for not loading the car...Here I gO!!!!!
I survived! I saw 47 cars, and 6 18 wheelers on the side of the road...The stretch from Memphis to Little Rock was iced over to the point the Jeep couldn't go more than 15 mph...! On the Tennessee river bridge, 11 cars alone was on the side... The trip should normally take 12 to 13 hours...It took us 27 hours...I got to my Mom's home in Atascocita at 5:00 yesterday...My wife thought I was crazy to stay the course, but my Christmas vacation in Texas couldn't be stopped! Of course, when the Jeep started sliding all about the road, she was cursing at me for some reason... I didn't take my prized M16 rifle, but I really wished I did, since I could have shown it off at Carter's Country... I felt like we should have won some money off of a fear factor telecast since we "survived" so much getting here...Houston will always be home for me in my heart, I'm so happy to be here with my family, my children, my Mom, my wife this Christmas... and I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
ROXRAN - we drove down from visiting family in Michigan and had to go through that same area and boy did it suck. I saw at least 200 cars on side of road from start to finish. We even slept for 2 hours on the freeway because an accident blocked both lanes of traffic. Glad you made it safely!
