Houston will never get in the top 50. I feel that it is too spread out and people would rather drive, not that there is anything wrong with that.

 

I have bad experiences with bicyclists who completely ignore the rules of the road and blast through stop signs and are complete assholes to both pedestrians and drivers.

 

Austin came in at #11. Not bad! Now, if only our mass transit system, our rail system, which is still trying to figure out what it wants to be (with little built as yet), and our freeway system (way, way behind the big increase in population growth and the cars that come along with that) could catch up to our bike friendly city.

 

I feel like many cyclists in Houston act this way, and then proceed to b**** about how motorists don't respect them.

Team Ziggy. Go to the parks to bike, get off the street. More than half the bike riders I see on my part of town do not obey one single law while on the streets, they act like it's their playground and play by their made up rules. Go away and get your sweaty ass crack speedo's out of my view.

 

I don't mind houston not being on the this list. I am all for a denser city and more rail lines, but I can't stand bikers. They almost NEVER follow the rules of the road, are extremely arrogant and extremely rude. Also, its too humid and hot in Houston for biking to ever be a a realistic regular thing

I lived in the #3 city (Boulder, CO) for 4 years and live in the #12 city (Denver, CO) currently, and I gotta say, it doesn't IMPROVE my view of the city

all bikers are assholes, they think they own the roads, they become either cars or pedestrians at their own convenience. and if you like accidentally cut them off or block their way, they rage like you killed their entire family.

trust me I'm bike commuter and I hate all bikers including myself sometimes when I bike

 

Houston and Austin.
Even walking around University of Texas is ****ing annoying because you have bicyclists going full speed with no regard for the safety of pedestrians. Some woman got hit a few weeks ago and the biker just ran off.

Bikers are assholes. You would think that if you are passing through a dense area with a lot of students walking around you, you'd slow down right? NOPE. Full speed and students literally have to dodge these jackasses.

And don't get me started on critical mass.
