Most all losses I can deal with without too much pain. It stings for a bit, and then it's like ok ... gonna win the next game. This game ... for some reason, literally gave me nigthmares. It might be that I was watching the game from bed, and slept right after it ended. But my mind just froze after Johnson hit his jumper. The ENTIRE night, I kept replaying the last few seconds ... a different ending each time, but a win always. I saw Yao right under the basket and Steve making a high lob and Yao slamming it over Amare. JJ making the inbounds to Stevie right outside the arc for a long 3. Cuttino dishing it to a cutting SF for a smooth layup. Different endings ... ALL FRIGGIN NIGHT!!! When I woke up, I was sooo certain that I didn't see the entire game that I checked on ESPN that maybe we actually did win. It was then that I finally remembered Yao walking back with a bowed head. INSANE
You are not insane, you just have Rocketitis. Quite normal for Rockets fans, actually. Just avoid going to sleep right after the game. Get a drink or so to relieve your mind, and you will be fine.
Yea last night hurt me especially too.... My girlfriend had jsut gotten back from Madrid so that was a relief...but the loss really pissed me off and I couldnt think about her as much as I would have liked cause my blood pressure was so high ! This was the most disappointing loss of the season for me
I hate to say it - but I think I agree to some extent. I missed most of the game, but watched the end and am still dismayed. I was playing ball with some guys and I told them the Rox were up by 20 - we joked about a comeback and went back to playing some ball.... the joke was on us when we all got in our cars and heard that the game was headed to OT I could not ever listen to the radio summary this morning - or read the paper - because I can't accept that they blew that lead, that they let Joe Johnson and Shawn Marion hit clutch shots to come back from behind and then take the lead for good. My goodness - didn't anyone tell those guys that JJ, Marion, and Amare are the ONLY guys worth a stick on that team (or were the ROX too busy double teaming Jahadi White and Barbosa !?!? btw - what ever happened to the old Avery Johnson defense the Rockets used to run - i.e. cover let the worse shoter on the court take 20 shots and cover everyone else up - maybe JVG needs to be a bit more strategic...
