You know the commercials where A nice ol' lady is smiling and driving her "scooter" and bragging about being able to get around...They are shown to be nice folk, who are implied to be civil and nice, right?...

Well, I hardly ever see a nice ol' person on one of those things with a smile on their face,...Usually it's a smelly, wild-eyed person that gets off on driving full blast and bumping into you and ball-hogging the whole aisle,...They are freaking inconsiderate beligerant fogeys, that have a pissed off expression...I was so annoyed by them crashing into my ankles, that I was mighty close to "accidentally" kicking their stupid scooter on its side...

    Any "scooter" stories?

You can move faster if you pick it up and run with it so the old people dont catch you.

I love that old Rascal commercial advertising the street scooters for the old folks. One of the scenes is an old man sitting on a Rascal , gesturing towards his crotch, and saying, "Here's my Rascal right here!"

I loved the Seinfeld where George got one, when of course he didnt need it, the old people chased him on theirs and his battery runs out......classic.

From previous job experience, I've noticed the people that genuinely need them are nice.

It's the larger people that are too lazy to walk that usually stir stuff up.

Every time I think of those things, I picture Johnny Knoxville flying down a hill on a scooter dressed up as an old geezer. :D

Usually the only people who I see on those blasted things are either oldsters who run over my feet or ridiculously bloated people who are too lazy to walk. Once this grotesquely fat woman hit my eight-year old son in Wal-Mart with one of those damned things, knocked him down and she didn't even look to see if he was all right. I chased her down, grabbed the key off of it and tossed it down an aisle. I told her "Try walking, you might lose some of the 1,000 pounds your lazy, fat ass is carrying." Fortunately my son was all right. She didn't even so much as say excuse me or apologize for nearly runnning over my little boy and that is what caused me to fly into a rage. I guess it is that primal child protection instinct, but I haven't been so mad at someone in my whole life. God those things annoy the hell out of me!

Seriously, I've seen those fat slobs who are too big to walk who use those scooters. How does somebody achieve that level of obsesity? It's really just unbelievable how big some people are.

Some if it may be hereditary, but for the most part, they are just people who don't give a sh*t about what they look like. Doctors always talk of the health benefits from quitting smoking...it's time for them to begin to talk more about the health benefits of not over-eating.
