Teaser #1 Since people were disappointed with A-Train's ancient brain teaser, I'll toss out my favorite two. I've always wanted to post this, but could never figure out a way to change it to hide from google. So, don't say anything if you know already. This is my favorite one of all time, and most brain teaser fans really like it too. I'll give you one clue. There is no trick to it. You will not complain that it was a trick question when you figure it out. -------------------------------------------------- You have three, slow-burning dynamite fuses. Dynamite is not involved, only the fuses. You need to use these fuses to measure 15 minutes. You have only a lighter to help you. And those who needs rules. Imagine you are in a barren prison cell with no clothes on and nothing but lighter, the 3 fuses and your brain, with nothing better to do than figure out how to measure 15 minutes. Here's what you know. Each fuse by itself burns for 2 hours, but at an unpredictable rate. It can burn 1% of the way for 90 minutes, then speed up and burn 50% in 1 minute, then slow back down and burn the rest in 29 minutes. You have no way of knowing the characteristics of how each will burn. You don't even know if they each have the same odd burning rate. They each behave differently and unpredictably. All you need to know is that they each burn for exactly 2 hours. That is all you need to know to solve the puzzle. And that is my last clue. It's a good one. Worth not looking back at this thread until you figure it out.
You call the warden and say, "Hey Warden! I'll give you these three nifty dynamite fuses if you come back and tell me when 15 minutes is up!"
Teaser #2 Here is the funnest one I ever encounterd. The contestants of a failed Survivor episode got shipwrecked on a deserted island by a hurricane while heading to their game destination. Only one woman and three men survive. Being the dominatrix, feral female that she is, just before she jumped ship, the woman was smart enough to grab the box of condoms that she had planned to smuggle into the game, but she lost all but 2 of them in the swim to shore. After several months of little food, burning sun, mosquittos, and hopelessness from dealing with these imbeciles while trying to figure out who to use her two precious condoms on, she become a delusional psycho-b****, and decided to kill them for food. But not before she has an orgy with them. How can one woman and 3 men have safe-sex using 2 condoms? OK, I embellished a little with the Survivor story part. All you really need to know is the last sentence.
Intercourse. No sexual tricks. This is just a math problem. Note: I edited something; they all must have safe sex. Imagine they don't trust her either.

#1: Take 1 2-hour fuse, fold it in eighths and light the whole end. Burning from 8 spots, it should only take 15 minutes to be consumed. But why do you need three fuses? In case you screw up?
hey, delete your posts then, both of them. You knew the "key." you cheated. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I edited the scenario a little in an attempt to hide it from google. Had I said it the original way, you probably would have realized you knew it and let other's play.

And the answer was not explained so concisely the first time. If so, you and Pole sure know how to ruin great brain teasers. Let me just post the answer to show I'm schmaht. oh well, I tried.
