    By definition a point guard....

    sets up plays
distributes the ball where others can score
gets everyone else involved in the flow of the offense
    is a good assist player
    quarterbacks the offense
    finds the open man

The Rockets do not have one point guard on the team

I do not hate Steve- but reality is he is not a point guard.

    Everyone knows it.

This team would be much better off with a true genuine the real deal point guard running the offense and Steve playing the 2.

We have enough offensive firepower if it is developed in a good system.

Steve is a superstar and too talented a player too change him into a quarterback on the floor type point guard. But we would be so much better if we had one running the offense.

This will keep us losers unless we develop a unique chemistry that fits Steve as our point guard.

Even if all the other player pick up their game, by nature and as our team superstar, Steve will always be looking for ways to take his man instead of making the players around him successful.

He may do it in spurts but when the pressure times in the games come he will want to carry the load. And that works better if you are not the point guard. Pick any other position and you can have a superstar carry the load to a championship.

A point guard has to run the offense first and let the game come to him -- aka Jason Kidd, Isaiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, John Stockton etc. etc. etc.

Did you watch or listen to the game? Francis DID NOT play the PG spot, Moochie played the PG spot. You keep posting that definition OVER AND OVER again, but Francis DID NOT play the PG spot.

I don't think Steve ever plays point guard, per se. It is more of a blend.

Moochie brought the ball up the floor,

Steve had the ball in his hands and ran the half court offense,

And they are not good point guards.

I don't have a problem with Steve at the point either, but we better find a chemistry that works with his style of play. Because he is not a true playmaker that gets everyone in the flow of the offense and stays with it.

my bad for posting the same ya ya ya over and over, but I don't think we are going to improve this year without some serious chemistry that some how feeds off Steve's style of play.

Rudy is the only one that can address this. The problem is our half court offense is poor. We get one on one's poor shot selections and we don't get very many assists or easy baskets.

    IMO

That's true, Kevin Johnson was the same way. Francis had to play 2-guard last night because with the injuries we needed offense. With Rice, KT, Mo and even T-Mo returning at different points Francis will be more of an exclusive PG, and will be able to pass the ball more to people instead of worrying about carrying the offense because the Rockets are undermanned.

    Rockets2K,

I have posted this in every thread I could find that was relevant.

I am a huge fan, I love Steve (he is greatness)

I am just real frustrated. I believe we need chemistry really really badly that will work with Steve running the offense because it is critical that we gel at some point this year.

It's not that its the first game or just that we lost but that I fear us falling back into old patterns that will not take us to a championship.

I apologize again for being redundant and creating an unnecessary post.

I am just over reacting and I want us to do soooooo well this year.
