After much pondering, I finally went out last Friday and bought myself some new wheels. Ended up get a 2003 Lexus GS300 (Certified Pre-Owned) with 32,500 miles. It boiled down to that or a new 4Runner and I decided that the Lexus is a cooler ride. The Lexus will turn more heads. Plus, you can't beat Lexus service and reliability. The car is warrantied for 3years/100,000 miles.
The people at Sterling McCall took good care of me.

Thanks to everyone here for your help and input in helping me make this decision. I really do appreciate it.

So you went from test-driving a 4Runner or Sequioia to an Audi to a Lexus (USED, no less)? Customer service AFTER THE SALE at SM sucks, BTW.

Good choice Jackfruit. That is where I bought my Lexus. You'll love it.

I don't know about turning heads, but either of those vehicles would've been a great choice. Congrats.

Choosing a car comes down to boosting your ego as much as you can afford.

I'm very indecisive :) I got a great deal on the car (right under $25,000 before taxes). That is less than a new 4Runner and about the price of a new Camry. The only downside to buying a 2003 GS300 is that the body style changed this year. But the price difference between a 2003 and a 2006 is large enough to where I can easily overlook body style.

Congrats...I bought my Lexus pre-owned a couple of years ago and I love it...You won't be disappointed...Take your lexus to the Dealership Service Center from know on...It rocks...Typically fruits/bagels and bottled water/cokes...Free complimentary wash...I go to Sewell, but have been to Park Place in Plano which is good too...

Glad you got the warranty, but a word of caution, if the check engine light goes on, $$$

Congrats Jackfruit. My family and I have been buying Lexus for quite a while now, I honestly think its the best cars you can buy. I'm still driving a RX from 1999 and there is not a single thing wrong with the car after 100,000 miles +.

It is 3 years or until the car get a total of 100k on it (including the miles that came with it).

And there went the fruits and bagels followed by the bottled water and cokes...

Don't get suckered by that stuff. You're paying for it everytime you do a repair. Just make sure you're getting a reliable vehicle so you're not having to pay for fruit and bottled water at a car service place. :D

You says you have to have something wrong with your car in order to eat and drink their stuff? ;)

Haha! It's 3 years from when I bought or 100,000 total vehicle miles, whichever comes first. I guess the 100,000 is for people that buy the car when it has 50-60k on it already.

If you really want to turn some heads, then you should have gone with a used Pinto. lol. A Lexus doesn't turn heads any more because Lexus represents every other car on the road nowadays. I hope it turns your own head. That's all that counts.

Before buying the Lexus, the frugality in me hoped that my 1995 Honda Passport would get rear-ended and totalled (without me sustaining injury of course). You know I wouldn't be wanting that with a Pinto :)
