I used the insurance money I got from Ike to pay off my house in Galveston, car and credit cards. I'm 100% debt free as of today. Whoo-hoo! :D

Congratulations, man! If you have any spare money, please consider giving cash donations to the "meggoleggo needs to be debt free too" cause. :D

Congrats. Feels good, eh? Make sure you keep it up. It's pretty easy if you put your mind to it. Keep just 1-2 credit cards and make sure to pay them off at the end of each month.

Congrats, man. That's really great. I will be there someday.

Do you by chance listen to Dave Ramsey?

Congrats man. So glad you got that done. Now never ever credit cards again. I'm working on that. Trying at least.

I had an 80/20 '100%' fixed mortgage, so it was actually two. The 80 was a low interest rate, the 20 was fairly high, close to 8%. It was one that I was working on paying off anyway. At any rate, I didn't get sucked into the ARM hype when I bought a few years ago.

Now I just need to sell it. Anyone need a 'fixer-upper' in Galveston? :)

Wow! Super glad for you! I have an 80/20 fixed as well. Just purchased my house last year. I'm hoping to be in the same poisition as you in 5 years. Any advice? Anyways, always really happy to hear news like this.

Meanwhile, I've been working out payment terms for my shiny new MBA education loans. There goes the extra salary.

    But, congrats to you.
