Seriously now. He should have done it when Charlotte offered to build a new Hornets arena on the condition that Shinn goes. Now stuff like this keeps happening. Enough already - get rid of this embarassment to the owners. It's telling when someone manages to make Sterling look this good.

If the jobs and livelihoods of hundreds of stadium personnel/media/organization employees weren't in danger, I'd be writing 30 columns a month about why Stern should fold the Hornets.

I agree that he's in the Toilet Bowl of owners, but Duh Donald Serling isn't? Is there an eminent domain clause the NBA possesses to oust really bad owners? Or at least make them own WNBA teams...

NBA *NEVER* should have allowed the Hornets to move to New Orleans. The man has now ruined two markets. 9,000 people a game? There are minor league hockey teams that average higher attendence.

I think it's unfair to put even Donald Sterling in Shinn's class.

Shinn tried to screw the Charlotte taxpayers into building him a new arena. They said no, so he took his team to New Orleans. Charlotte had the NBA’s highest attendance for ten years despite continued mediocrity due to their incompetant personnel decisions.

Sure, Sterling's cheap, but in my mind the worst thing he's ever done is let Larry Brown go. Sure, there have been some terrible personnel decisions, but I can only blame that on Sterling's refusal to fire Elgin Baylor. Sterling's never screwed an entire city the way Shinn did, and last I checked he's never been accused of sexual assault.

With Sterling, at least you know what you get. He makes no bones about the fact he's in it to make money. Shinn, after getting the Hornets team awarded to him, sold his business and the Hornets are the only thing he has left. In fact, that's the reason he won't sell the team, as, sad as it is to say, it's the only notable thing you can attribute to him. Well, other than banging cheerleaders, forcing a female employee to perform oral, screwing one city out of a team and screwing another city out of their money.

You're right, he just hires prostitutes: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0812041sterling1.html

Seriously, Sterling used to be at the bottom of the owner quality hierarchy. I think you underestimate how much his frugality has hurt the team. But, Shinn definitely has surpassed him as worst owner these last several years. Sterling was just a bad owner, Shinn is an out-and-out crook.

thats what he said...but even then....staying here as the VP of MArketing has to be better than workign for New Awlins seeing as what is being reported about them...no?

its a real shame either way...he seemed to be a real cool guy...hate to see things working out the way they have for him.
