Most likely you will pay more for a one time cleaning than if they think you want them to continue to come back again and again. You might consider that when inquiring about price.

I have a house cleaning story to share...

When my wife and I lived on west main in the montrose we had this nice cleaning lady whose name was daisy. She was big woman, nice as they come who happened to be black (I only throw this in for reference). At the time my wife and I were going to New Orleans about every month partying and we had collected quite a few things from there so we decorated our den in a New Orleans theme. We had a poster from Marie Laveau's house of voodoo. A bourbon street sign above the door. On the end of the celing fan pull string we had a voodoo chicken leg for the light pull (and for protection from evil ) and a big cross for the other. An aligator head as an incense burner, a bunch of candles, a few crucifix, etc.

Well the week after decorating the den I came home and the house had not been cleaned. I called Daisy but she wouldn't answer my calls. She also cleaned one of my wife's co-workers house the same day and I asked him if his house had been cleaned and it had. He called her up and she told him she thought we were "Hippy VooDoo People" and that her preacher (baptist) had told her god wouldn't approve of her cleaning our house of devil worship. We don't practice VooDoo but my wife is catholic and the traditions of VooDoo are blended in with catholic tradition... that and we really like New Orleans.

2 weeks later I get a call from Maizy who is Daisy's sister who told us she would be glad to clean our house and that Daisy only listens to what the Preacher told her because she was sleeping with him and didn't want his wife to find out. How that made a difference I'm not sure but Maizy ended up doing a much better job cleaning the house anyways.
