Even though I am a HUGE movie fan, I haven't seen this movie. I will put it on my list. Is it that good?

Hoosiers was a TREMENDOUS movie. Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper are awesome and Barbara Hershey was really terrific too. I think Hopper was nominated for an academy award for it and I'm almost positive it was nominated for cinematography. Think The Natural for high school basketball.

That was a really funny article, especially if you've seen the movie 8 or 10 times, like I have! :D

A great movie for sure, but nowhere near as good as "The Natural".

While I think the movie is great, I think it is at best the third best sports movie of all time. My top three are:

    1) The Natural
    2) North Dallas Forty
    3) Hoosiers

Yup, but I'm more of a Bud Light, salt and vinegar, 6 year old Brett Favre jersey type of guy.

I thought "Rudy" was pretty good, and its not on this guy's list.

I thought it was better than some of the other movies on the list.

Hoosier's is a tremendous movie. I've seen it a dozen or so times and still get misty-eyed at moments.

Ron Truitt, who coached Cy-Fair to the Texas 4A state title in 1971, was one of those kids in real life. I think it was "Milan, Indiana" in real life-- something like that.

Ron was my youth swim coach, too.

Sadly, he passed away about 15-20 years ago from cancer.
