Mabe Wang is avoiding dallas on purpuse. Mabe China told him to sign with the team thats drafting Yao. Rudy T is aware of this and wiill trade Cato and others to seattle for lewis, Having no cato will free up our back up center spot. And thats were Wang can step in.

    Just not a feasible one.

    one caveat:

That trade is illegal because it will exceed the 15% Salary Gap Rule, no matter who you trade him for.

How? Lewis will clearly get a raise of more that 20%, which makes him a Base Year Compensation player. So, any Sign n Trade involving him creates a salary gap equal to the lesser of: (1) 50% of Lewis's new salary, or (2) the difference between his new Salary and old Salary. Since his raise will be more than 20%, either number must exceed the allowable salary gap of 15%, thus making the trade illegal.

The only way SnTs can happen (when involving players getting raises larger than 20%) is if one of the teams has a big enough Trade Exception or enough Salary Cap room to absorb the salary gap. They can also involve a Third Team to absorb the salary gap.

Since neither Seattle or Houston as cap room or a trade exception, a trade for Lewis cannot happen without a 3rd team involved.

That would be cool if we could get Yao Ming and ZhiZhi Wang. No what that would be awesome, Houston would be the favorite NBA team in China. Plus it would get people talking about the Rockets again. Only minus with that is would Franics like not being the only star on the team? Also will you people stop it with the Lewis stuff, we are not getting him. Cato would need to be traded though, unless ZhiZhi could play some at PF.

rocketfan85- ming by himself will do all that you suggested. he's the jordan of the cba so all of china's basketball fans will be following the rocks. it'll be interesting to get wang but we really don't need him, imo.

I never would have thought about that. Wang might be a nice addition. Also, his presence may help Yao out a good bit.

Well...may be Yao's presence can help Wang out a good bit too...People are saying Wang is much better than how he played last season. Wang and Yao has played together for years. With Yao on same team, we may see a much improved Wang.

It seems that Yao and Wang don't have chemistry between them. I remembered I read a report before, the coach of Chinese national team complained that both of them were used to be fed balls by other teammates (because they are superstars at their own teams). He said that Ming had some passing sense, but Wang just waited there. (I think Wang is much better now)Chinese team lost to Australia when they put three "great walls" on the court together. So now the head coach decided to change the position of them. But Wang is still in USA so that the coach cannot experiment his new idea.

While we're at it, why not add Mengke Bateer. Shoot, anyone know what Ma Jian is up to these days? People we're trying to run a business, not an Intramural Basketball team full of buddies.
