While driving to Austin, I was pulled over on 71 for speeding exactly 20mph above the posted speed limit. This was in the La Grange area.

I've tried searching online for attorneys who can take care of this issue, but the closest place I could find them are in Bastrop, which is quite a ways away for them, resulting in insanely large retainers.

Given how many people have made the trip from Houston to Austin, anyone have any recommendations to help a fellow out?

Why would you need a lawyer for a speeding ticket? Just call the clerk and ask for deferred adjudication. It’ll be like $100, defensive driving, and it’ll stay off your record.

A lawyer would cost way more.

I've never successfully called and managed to talk to someone at a court. Ever.

Depending on where you were, the posted limit is b/t 60 and 75.

Suck it up, pay your fine, slow the **** down and drive like a normal person.
