Anyone who chose Big Z(ero) should either explain yourself or submit to a drug test.

Haywood is better. Big Z is old and crippled now. It would have been a different story, 5 years ago.

75% of Big Z's contract has been paid for by the Cavs. Stockpile the cash for 2010 draft day.

Haywood is a bandaid to our problems, and so is Big Z. neither players really jump at you and if i'm not mistaken both over 30. both are basically rental players, and IIRC on their last year of their contracts.

Neither player would win us a championship but perhaps Haywood in the middle would get us to the playoffs, bench ariza and start Butler

    Haywood / Hayes / Dorsey
    Scola / Landry / Anderson
    Battier / Ariza
    Butler / Budinger / Taylor
    AB / Lowry

This team doesn't look like it's put together well. Not sure this is even a playoff team. The Thunder are better, as well as Memphis.

AB is too inconsistent, Butler's been on the decline.

It's not the matter of him being special, but it is the matter of him being a better player than Big Z.

Well, Illaguskas will never play for any other team besides Cleveland, so there's no point to asking who would fit for Houston.

He's a good rebounder (12th in rebounds) and quite a good shot blocker (5th in blocks) as well. He doesn't have that many offensive moves but is solid and reliable.

Haywood defensively is better, rebounding and blocks easily hell help us and we could always use that downlow. He has a better contract and is younger.

However, Illaguskus shouldn't be ruled out completely, offensively he is a very good fit for adelman's offense. He has similar qualities to divac who flourished in adelman's system. He knows how to pass well out of the post, he definitely has a very steady mid range and decent outside shot, he has the size. He is old and defensively can't last as long, but there are strong cases for him to help our offense going.

Haywood and it's not even close. He's over 4 years younger than Z, and you can count on him for a double double every night. 10 points, 10 rebounds and a REAL defensive presence around the basket (to the tune of about 2 blocks) is something this team needs desperately.
