Has stat padding became a theme due media?

    Look, i know other players did it before, but has media drove all of stat values and narrative to next level, would we have WB and his team going insane for his stats, Booker dropping 70 with fouling techniques and etc ?

    Sure, numbers make the league look good, which is why they took away hand-checking and made it easier for guards. Steph is taking advantage of it, Harden's taking advantage of, so yeah..

    You can call me a stat-purist. I believe stats should be INDICATORS of how a player helps his team win, not GOALS for playing the game.

    Stat-padding, by definition, is the act of reaching some statistical goals outside the purpose of helping the team win. When they do that, the stats are no longer accurate indicators and they lose meaning because of that.
