My wife's family is going to all go in together and get my father-in-law a new grill for Christmas. He always grills for us when we go visit and his current grill is on its last leg. He already has a seperate charcoal grill, so he really needs a new gas grill. I've shopped around a bit and I really don't know what to get, what brands are acceptable, and what is the best value for your dollar when it comes to grill. Here are the requirements: Price - Between $150-$200 if possible. Type - Gas (propane, I guess) Store - Because of where they live, we need to get one that he can return if need be. So it would be easiest if it could come from Sears, Home Depot, or Lowe's. He stores it in his garage, so it needs to be easily wheeled out for grilling. We'd also like to be able to have good grilling surface area since he often cooks for a lot of people. Also, while a side burner would be cool, it is not necessary if the grill fits the description. Any thoughts or suggestions, especially on brand names and such. Weber seems to be the best, but out of our price range. I've found some Char-Broil brand grills that might work, but I don't know if that is a good brand or not. Can you really go wrong with one brand of grill over another???
I just got a new Gas grill from Sears. Side burner and large grilling surface. The handle even has a grill at night light which I figured was a gimic but it actually works great. I paid under 200 with the 10% off they were offereing at the time. It meets all your stated requirements.
Well, he already has a nice charcoal grill that he uses...but he grills almost every night when we visit and he doesn't want to mess with charcoal, so he uses the gas. His gas one is old and almost done for, so he needs a new one.
I suggest going to Sears. Then Kenmore line is great. I think i payed right around $200 bucks for a grill with a stainless top. You might want to make sure you get one with an electronic starter. It uses a battery instead of the 'flick type' that the grills used to have.
