Here I sit, half-naked at the computer box with sweat on my back thinking what am I going to do now that I live in Smyna, TN...? Yes, I got 2 or 3 shooting ranges picked out...Yes, there are more squirrels running amuck here...Yes, my financial situation has improved... Yes, I'm moving to my first new house with the wife and kiddies...But I'm scared about the T.V. situation...My love for the Rockets is incalcuable...What will I do?

I was thinking of the Dish and getting it...

If I get the FOX sports world package, would that afford me some opportunities to watch Rockets games? I'm not sure if they have agreed to continue the televised games on FoxSW?

Please help reassure me...I'm am petrified!

The only way you get any pro sports team's games is thru the extra premium packages they offer for like $100+ a year:
NBA League Pass, MLB Extra Innings, NFL Sunday Ticket, etc.

The only NBA team you'll be able to see is the one that broadcasts to your local area (probably the Grizzlies)... all other teams games will be blacked out, even if you have the Fox Sports package that gives you all the regional games (IMO, that package is the biggest rip-off in the business... unless you're really into watching the Fox Sports Southwest Sports Report!...)

We just set up a dish package for our weekend home (it's out in the middle of nowhere in the Catskills). We were told we could pay a "fee" ($2.50) for any extra channels out of the package area. We pay $10 more a month to get all of the local New York City channels (CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox and The "Yes" network - Yankees)

You might be able to ask them if they offer a local channel you want. Such as a local Houston channel that will carry the games.

    It's worth a shot!

Definitely worth a shot but those local channels are assigned by the billing zip code. If he is being billed in TN, he can only receive the local channels assigned for that zip code.

Now that I think about it, you're right Smokey. They gave us a list of the channels that we could choose from. Didn't really think about channels not listed.

Roxran, your only option is League Pass.(or getting the games from someone in Houston that records them)

I dont believe there is anyway for you to get the local(Houston) channels that will carry them.
