I had to stop by my church this morning to drop off some stuff...and I walked into the office to hear three old ladies who work there talking about Yao Ming!!! They talked for a while about how great he is...how gracious he is, as well.

As I walked out I thought...wow...I hope the Rockets realize the buzz they're generating...if they can get these old ladies who I've never heard talking about sports before in all the time I've known them watching enough Rockets basketball to be able to talk about it the next morning, they're really on to something BIG!!!

    GO ROCKETS!

I hope the buzz puts people into the seats, too, but it is great to know Petunia, Aunt Bea, and Mertyl, et al. are talking about the team again (and in a good way).

Yeah, it was a trip to me when I went up to Double Dave's in Austin to watch the game last night and every big TV in there was tuned in, and every single person that was there was cheering for the Rockets. The table behind me was one of all middle-aged asian men, and they were going on and on...it's weird to see such non-stereotypical groups coming together on my favorite thing in the world. I'm glad I'm not alone anymore.

No, those old ladies weren't saying "Yao Ming", they were saying "OW! BRING me another tube of Ben Gay..."

You just weren't listening to all they were saying.
