It took the Spurs a couple years to win after the arrival of Tim Duncan. It took the Superfriends a couple years to gel in Miami. OKC hasn't produced a ring yet. This is year 1 for the Rockets. Knowing how to win takes time for a young team. Losing builds character.

Reading the GARM and game thread every time a lead is lost reveals a lot of impatient, vitriolic, fair-weather fans. Do you guys work in companies that create world-class teams overnight? What were your expectations 1 year ago when Dwight was first signed and how do they change when watching a game?

Look past the ball not going in. This is the first game where Rockets ball is being played. Parsons is slashing every time he touches the ball, everyone is shooting 3's at any given opportunity, and Asik (our best post defender and VETERAN) has started over TJ against LA with good results.

Those are instructions given to a young team that is shaken. It took some time, but today's game is also a coach growing and making right adjustments. Even if the Rockets don't get out of the first round again, wait til at least year 2 before flipping to the Lakers.

I think it's ridiculously awful to label anyone critical of the team play as "fair weather fans"

In no way did I state that. I said that games where leads are lost reveal a lot of fair-weather fans, not that all critical fans are fair-weather. There's an SAT question in there somewhere.

Wait a minute. Tim Duncan won his first in his second year.

The heat made it to the finals in their first year.

duncan arrives, wins a trophy the following year.

Phil jaxxon arrives, they win the title.

I'd give anything for harden or dwight to be timmy or mchale to be phil.

Fair weather fans don't get upset and spew vitriol. They turn off the TV and forget there are playoff games going on. They go on to other things. They just don't even think or care.

People reacting aren't fair weather fans, they are just disappointed ones.

This^^ X2..... We were used to seeing great basketball and Harden killing it.... Its sad how those times seem so distant now. Wish they came back.... I think they will :D.... Still Believe should be the slogan....

We need defense without defense we will get bounced every year. Maybe we get past a few rounds on a hot streak. Guess what. We aren't going to be on fire on offense for four straight series.

All offense no defense is the most stupid ducking strategy I've ever seen.
