or incorrectly known as the British Open...

2nd round currently going on. Looks like Tiger will be finished unless he makes a huge turn around. He's currently outside the cut line at +5 (projected at +4). He's playing horribly in tough conditions.

59 yr old Tom Watson was the 1st round leader and currently sits 3rd.

You are correct...my bad. It was so impressive that he's in contention, I forgot the actual fact that Jimenez had a fantastic round of 64 to lead Watson by 1.

Watson is on 18 with a birdie put to tie Steve Marino for the clubhouse lead at -5.

[EDIT] And he drained a long putt for the birdie...and Tiger is now +7.

Tiger was at +7 through 15
He made birdie on 16 and 17
Needs another one on 18 to make the cut.

You can get a credible facsimile of the experience for about $70 by playing Magnolia Links in League City. It is true links golf; of course you need to play it in about February to get the Scottish Summer weather.

Sucks for ABC. Their only telecast of the golf season and Tiger wont be there. I'll still be watching though.

If Watson stays in contention, I'll bet the ratings stay at least close to where they'd be with Tiger.

It will be the perfect target audience for their continuous Flomax commercials.
