I stated in the beginning that JVG setup an IDEAL situation from
the start. He could not lose.

    If we win . . he a genius . . .
If we lose. . its the players. . .

The man continues to amazing me with is skill at
    playing the media/fans

If SF goes on a 20/10/10 streak for the next 10 games
    JVG gets all the credit
If SF goes on a 5/2/2/ streak . . . SF should have made the flight

There is no way SF to get *ANY* credit for *ANY* thing
    and
seems to be no way for JVG to get *ANY* blame for the teams
    short comings

I've only seen nominal critisism of JVGs coach
    which I must admit is a lil suspect. . . . .

    THAT BEING SAID.

What do you see for the second half of the season?

I think SF's game will return.
he has something to prove now . . . [never knows what
    gets one his groove back]

I guess the question is . . CAN THIS TEAM MAKE THE PLAYOFFS

Good point RocketRiver. I was really excited in the beginning of the season about JVG, but now I realize how much I miss Rudy.

JVG just seems like a stubborn, balding, "my way or the highway," type of guy. Even though that's maybe what the Rockets needed, but he just seems like he whines a lot and doesn't take any of the blame.

But to answer your question about the 2nd half?

I think the Rockets will come together as a team after our recent setbacks. Steve will get his shot back, Yao will have another up and down half season. We will make the playoffs.

    RR,

If we lost, it's the players.

If we win, it's the players.

    That's how it always is.

And JVG has shown now reluctance to accept blame when neccesary.

This may be the case but it is not a JVG issue. It is a whoever is coaching the team this year issue.

What is suprising? It's how he's always acted. He tells it how it is, always has...why is that suprising or wrong?

If SF goes on a 20/10/10 streak for the next 10 games
    JVG gets all the credit
If SF goes on a 5/2/2/ streak . . . SF should have made the flight

This is just stupid. If SF averages 20/10/10 for the next 10 games nobody is going to say it's all because of JVG. Certainly JVG won't be saying it. He, like most of us, will just continue to tell it like it is. If Steve plays well it is because he is playing well, if he sucks and is acting like a crybaby it is because he sucks and is acting like a crybaby.

    and
seems to be no way for JVG to get *ANY* blame for the teams
    short comings

Why should JVG be blamed for SF playing like crap and acting like a baby? Nobody has started a thread about JVG's actual coaching this year - his substitution patterns (which honestly baffle me at times), his plays (which are a little too rigid for me but much improved), etc.

What do you see for the second half of the season?

I think SF's game will return.

I think the team can and should and probably will make the playoffs. But I don't see them improving that much...this year or ever. The team, as composed, is a perennial 6-8 seed. That, if anything, is what has been made clear this season.
