if posters keep posting threads like this, we'll never get to post pics in the Hangout again and quite frankly, I like to post pics in the Hangout. Probably one of the reasons Girl of the Day went away was because 1)there were numerous "hot chick" threads and 2) borderline p*rn pictures were being posted and some folks complained. I know that my surfing is monitored at work and when I clicked on one of those threads in the past, my work IP address was logged as logging onto "questionable material". Not cool.... It would be in the best interest of all on this board to refrain from posting hot chick threads and maybe one day our image posting priviliges will be reinstated... there was some info about this in the Feedback Forum... http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30130 I was kinda hoping, that like all types of threads that come in waves, this kind would go away... but apparently not. if you guys/gals want hot chick threads, badassmofo.com has its own forum about women with all kinds of hot chick threads...you can even post p*rn!! link to badassmofo.com forum with hot babes. I don't care one way or the other about 'hot chick' threads, but I do care about posting pics on the this BBS in this forum... flame away...
no, but I have friend that works in the Corporate I.S. Department and he mentioned it to me, not to mention anytime a web browser hits a questionable site, I can see that it's logging to websense.com after attempting to retrieve photos from said questionable site... dude, even Maxim magazine's website is questionable to websense....
Yeah i have the same thing at my work. I work for a school though. They are really strict about what we can get to. I actually cannot access the bbs from there because they have it blocked. The good thing is though you have to repeatedly attempt to access a blocked site before it sends up a warning. I have received several warnings for attempting to access the BBS but since I work for the technology dept. no one questions me. What really cracks me up though is some of the sites they have blocked are ridiculous. I cannot get to several school related websites. And occasionally I stumble upon questionable sites that are unblocked. CK
I know what you are saying rH, and I'm not trying to come across as disagreeing with you. However, isn't it true that posting pictures and images takes up A LOT of bandwidth space? As a result, it causes the server to run really slow and slows the BBS down. Now, granted there are sites that will be blocked by my company's firewall and I won't be able to access the site. However, if someone walked by and they saw some half-naked chick on my screen, then chances are I got some explaining to do. So, I think rH's point is a good one, but there is more to it than this for the HTML and images being turned off. Also, he just wants to do some caption contests because it isn't the same without seeing the picture in the thread.
